Old Lonesome

A small farm on the hill at the start of autumn. A little texture to make it seem like a painting.
A couple of springs ago, during a plentiful display of wildflowers, two cows took a siesta under a shading tree.
This must epitomize much of Texas to those who have never been to Texas. The windmill in a lonely stretch of landscape.
Late one fall evening I found this abandoned farm near one of the suburbs of Dallas. Amazing to find something like this still standing and not torn down for new development. Captured it while it is still there.
Another drive into East Texas. A raining day, not expecting too much, when I came across this tableau. I immediately saw the cinematic quality of light and shapes. Standing in a steady rain, I took several shots with this one having the most of what I was seeing.
